Can someone explain me, what are the difference of alliteration, assonance, and consonance? Alliteration is the use of words that start with the same sound near one another for example a "babbling brook" while assonance is the use of words that have the same or similar vowel sounds near one another for example "rise high in the bright sky" while consonance is the recurrence of consonants especially at the end of stressed syllables sans the similar correspondence of vowels (sorry I couldnt think of any example).
